Our story begins in 1985 in Portland, Oregon. Tracy began as a dishwasher, at age 15, in a little restaurant in Portland and moved his way up to Line Cook. Tracy then took on the Bering Sea and worked as a Crab Boat for two years in Alaska.
Afterwards, he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah where he started working for Red Lion Hotels. He quickly became the most requested Chef for the City Side Cafe in the Hotel lobby. He moved on and became one of the Chef's for Maxi's Fine Dining in the Hotel. He was also trained for banquets and became a Banquet Captain. He was then asked to be one of the restaurant Managers for the City Side Cafe. It was while he was working in Salt Lake City that he met his wife, Naomi.
After working together for two years, they decided to start something of their own and began catering under the name Catered With Class. They catered for a few years and then decided to open a little restaurant in Malta, Idaho. Their little family grew and so did the Steakhouse, so this restaurant was sold so they could make the move to Burley.
In the spring of 2006, they made the move and started the new Morey's Steakhouse and Event Center. Tracy and Naomi have had this dream of owning a restaurant that they could share with Friends, Family, and the community that they live in.
It has been a lot of hard work, ups and downs, you know that kind of stuff that Friends and Families are made of. So get comfortable, enjoy the converstaion with your Friends and Family and get ready for a great meal. At Morey's Steakhouse, we have grown but we have not forgotten about our Friends and Family.
